南非直销教育基金会的工作包括:
1. 鼓励直销研究,特别欢迎直销行业以外的教育机构,大专院校,商业专业学校进行直销研究。
2. 提供特别经费,奖学金,支持各类研究人员对直销业的各种特点及课题进行研究。
3. 促进各类学校开设直销课。
4. 鼓励给企业界,政府,科研学术部门的领导人讲课,促进他们对直销的了解,促进直销作为合法营销方式不断发展。
5. 鼓励人们在适当杂志及学术刊物上发表有关直销的研究论文。
6. 组织,促进向高中学生提供直销创业计划,使他们了解直销创业的理念及计划实行方式。
7. 发布有关直销业的商德公约,保证直销业经营的高度道德水准,保护消费者利益。
8. 建立完善的制度,在全球范围内收集保存整理直销业有关杂志,期刊,声像资料。
The Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF)
South Africa was the first country outside of the United States to forge ahead with the establishment of the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF).
In April 1996 the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) in association with the United States Direct Selling Education Foundation, adopted a global initiative to extend the activities of the Foundation on a worldwide basis. The South African DSEF launched its initiative during the same year, having established itself in late 1995.
The worldwide initiative is driven by its objectives to promote education, information, research and public awareness with respect to direct selling.
The direct selling industry provides entrepreneurial and income generating for millions of people around the world. In South Africa, over 450,000 people are involved in this dynamic industry. This number looks set to substantially increase over the next 10 years as existing companies continue to expand, new companies develop and international companies establish themselves in South Africa.
The objectives of the DSEF in South Africa are to:
1. Stimulate and encourage research about direct selling, particularly among tertiary educational institutions such as universities, technikons, colleges and business schools
2. Provide grants, bursaries and scholarships to selected research students to engage in academic research into different features of direct selling
3. Promote the teaching of direct selling as a subject at educational institutions
4. Encourage the delivery of lectures to business, government and academic leaders and other opinion formers, promoting the direct selling method as a legitimate and desirable form of marketing
5. Encourage the writing of academic scientific articles on direct selling for publication in suitable journals
6. Organise and promote an information programme to high school pupils giving details of career opportunities available in the direct selling industry
7. Promulgation of information on a Code of Conduct that ensures the maintenance of a high standard of ethics within the industry, and strong protection for the consumer
8. Develop a library of books, periodicals, magazines, videos and tapes with information about direct selling on a global scale
